Kayla and Michael chose to start their journey as husband and wife with a celebration for all by getting married on New Year's Eve. They personalized their ceremony by writing their own vows and although they didn’t have a bridal party, they incorporated their friends through the readings, handling the rings, and giving the toasts. Their venue was filled with industrial accents which was the perfect balance to the delicate florals and metallic accents. The theme of New Years was very subtle and was more about the celebration of the couple than the traditional black and gold color scheme you so often see. Kayla and Michael personalized their wedding even more by including personal details such as a cake from the couple's favorite dessert spot. Kayla even surprised Michael with his favorite food truck! Kayla and Michael’s wedding was truly a fantastic way to ring in the new year because their love for each other was so evident and their friends and family were so happy to celebrate with them!

Congratulations, Kayla and Michael!

2014 Southern Bridal Show A Huge Success

The team from BP Entertainment spent Saturday and Sunday January 4th and 5th at the North Carolina State Fairgrounds.  Over 225 vendors representing all aspects of the wedding industry had their wares on display.

We have been doing this event for over 10 years now and it never ceases to amaze me how useful it is to be in the same room with so many quality vendors.  Brides can find anything and everything they need for their perfect day.

Two of our favorite venues to work with; The Sutherland in Wake Forest, NC and The Garden On Millbrook were both there and we once again worked with them to set up weddings with a couple of brides using those locations.  If you are looking for the perfect venue, both of those are top notch and we highly recommend them.

We also saw our good friends Jim Coleman from Jim Coleman Photography and Amy Turner from Your Still Life Photography at the event.   You can’t beat their work for wedding photography so we also encourage you to contact them.

All in all, we had a great show and we look forward to getting dates booked with the brides we met.  If you are planning a wedding in 2014 or 2015, give us a call today at 919-669-4575 to get a head start on your planning!

Welcome to the new Brian Pate Entertainment web site!

After months of planning, looking over details and trying to streamline and simplify, it is finally here!

For the past two years, we have been named the #1 wedding DJ company in North Carolina by www.weddingindustryexperts.com and we decided that should challenge us to become even better.  To do that, we have partnered with Redwood Productions  in our hometown of Wake Forest, North Carolina to bring you a simpler on-line experience that we like to call our very own “Easy” button (stealing that one from Staples!).

With more video and photos on the web site and our pricing for brides available on line, you will spend less time wondering what we can do and more time focusing on how we can make your event a perfect experience.  On the new site, we have also upgraded our planning tools that allow for the bride and her DJ to communicate throughout the planning process to make sure no detail has been overlooked.  In our experience, we have found that anyone can play music, but providing that extra level of service by going above and beyond is what separates us from our competition.

In addition, there is more interaction with our clients on our Facebook page and our Twitter feed.  Make sure to “Like” us and “Follow” us to keep up with the many events we will be involved in.

The DJs here at BPE are the best around  (of course, as the owner, I am a little biased)!  The entire staff puts great effort into making every event we participate in the best we can and we hope you see that at our performances.

You can also visit us on many wedding sites including Wedding Wire, Wedding Bee, Wedding Channel, and Wedding Book.

If you are getting ready to plan your own wedding or you have a friend, purchase a copy of the book, “The Wedding Planner’s Survival Guide: 10 Industry Insiders Tell You What You Really Need To Know.”  Brian Pate Entertainment was the exclusive DJ company to contribute to this book.  It makes a great gift.

Finally, I want to say a quick thank you to everyone who has hired us for an event, given us a referral, or supported us at our shows.  The ultimate compliment that we can possibly receive is a recommendation from friends and family.  Without you, we would not be where we are.

Thanks for reading and enjoy visiting the new site!

Things are looking a little different around here!

We want to make sure our clients get the best service possible. To make your experience with us even easier, we’ve partnered with Redwood Productions to bring you a new and improved, easy-to-use website. Let us know what you think!

Brian Pate Entertainment Ranked “Best DJ Service in North Carolina” for Second Consecutive Year

May 20, 2013

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Results are out for the second Wedding Industry Experts Awards, and it is with great pleasure that we announce that Brian Pate Entertainment won the Best DJ Service in North Carolina for the second year in a row, and was ranked #7 in the United States, up two spots from 2012’s #9 ranking.

The awards are an annual competition recognizing some of the most popular wedding professionals at a local, national and international level.  This year wedding professionals from 29 countries participated in seventy categories.

Brian Pate Entertainment is located in Wake Forest, North Carolina and has a team of five DJs, one sound engineer and two event managers for many different types of events.  Last July, BPE celebrated their 25th anniversary, 14 of those years operating from Wake Forest.

The company has supplied sound and entertainment for many Wake Forest and Rolesville events including Meet In The Street, Six Sundays In Spring and the July 4th fireworks, Children’s Parade and Art In The Park, The Rolesville and Wake Forest Christmas Parades, Caring For Caelon and Relay For Life.  In addition, BPE has performed for over 1,000 weddings in North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia.

Jim Walker, Vice President of Operations for BPE said, “We are excited to be honored for the second year in a row as one of the top ten Wedding DJ Services in the country.”  He added, “To be recognized on a national level in the same breath as some of the companies in large metro areas like Los Angeles, Atlanta and Miami is a tribute to how hard all of our DJs work to make every event spectacular for our clients.”

Brian Pate, President and CEO could not contain his excitement.  “I am thrilled for the guys that make this happen.  Our goal is to hire quality people that provide a quality product every time out, and this group certainly delivers on that promise,“ he said.

WeddingIndustryexperts.com runs the award competition each year and they also release free reports.  Reports present a variety of perspectives on topics related to starting and running a wedding related business with the goal or recognizing and inspiring success. Reports can be accessed free of charge from www.weddingindustryexperts.com.

Why Beyonce Will Perform At The Super Bowl For Free

In the midst of all of the discussion about Beyonce’s lip-synced performance at President Barack Obama’s Inauguration on January 21st, many people are asking what kind of pay she might be raking in for the Super Bowl Halftime Show.
Normally, the former Destiny’s Child singer commands around $2 million per night but she will be performing for free at halftime of the world’s largest sporting event.
Why you ask? There are a couple of reasons actually:
1) The NFL does not pay the performer for the halftime show although they do cover all of the expenses associated for the artist to perform. That includes staging, lighting, back up dancers and all of the production involved as well as all travel costs.
2) The Super Bowl Halftime Show is the mother of all performances in terms of exposure. Last year, when Madonna performed her new song “Gimme All Your Luvin,” over 165,000 copies of the single were sold in the next week. In addition to that, it exposed a new generation of listeners to her classic songs like “Vogue” and “Like A Virgin” that also saw their downloads increase by thousands of percentage points over the next week after the performance.
3) The third that is not talked about much is that Beyonce just signed on with Pepsi for a $50 million dollar deal to be a spokesperson for the soft drink giant. In what is not so much of a coincidence, Pepsi is the sponsor of the halftime show. Some have claimed that Pepsi negotiated the halftime show as part of the deal but representatives of Pepsi have denied that, although they are thrilled that she is featured performer.
In what has lately become a tradition, Beyonce will follow in the steps of the Black Eyed Peas, Madonna and others who have not been paid for their performance.
I would also venture to guess that when you hear Beyonce belting out her biggest hits on Sunday night at the Superdome, you will be hearing her voice and no assist track given the controversy over her “Is It Live Or Is It Memorex” experience at the Inauguration.

What was your most favorite and least favorite Super Bowl Halftime Show?  I would love to hear in the comments!

DJs from Mars- Phat Ass Drop (song review)

I was working at my desk this morning and my phone signaled an incoming message.  When I picked it up, I had an email from Harry Frank Towers, one of my friends for over 20 years who is still promoting records.  In his email I have found what I think may be the Spring Break Track for this year. The artist is DJs from Mars and the song is called “Phat Ass Drop.”

Don’t get it in your head that this is a dirty song by any means.  It has a smokin’ baseline and sarcastically walks you through the creation of Electronic Dance Music.  It is a fun track that will keep the dance floor jumping for the next few months.

Do yourself a favor and go ahead and watch the video below which is the “radio version.”  I personally prefer the extended club mix.

I can definitely see this filling my dance floor this spring.
